As a parent, you need to be sure that your kids are in a SAFE learning environment. And we know that your kids are looking for a FUN time. We want to make sure that BOTH of these goals are reached. We offer age appropriate classes from birth through Middle School.

Safe:

- We conduct background checks on all volunteers who work with kids.

- We use secure check-in/check-out to ensure that only an authorized person is picking up your kids.

- Our rooms are staffed above the national standard.

- Classrooms are always open for viewing at any time by a parent.

- We ensure that all rooms and bathrooms are clean and kid friendly.

Fun:

- We have engaging activities to introduce our Birth to 2 Year Olds to God.

- We provide high energy games and cool teaching tools for our kids 3 to 5 Years Old.

- We take our K thru 5th Graders on an imaginative journey of Biblical learning.

- Each week, our Middle School kids discuss a practical, biblical lesson applicable to their lives.

If you have any questions about our kid’s programs view our FAQ's below. If you would like to help out in this exciting ministry, please contact our Blue Ridge kid’s director, Kim Kinder.

Checking in:

When you head to the kid's area on Sunday, you will come straight to the check-in stations. We ask that you download our church center app so that you can use our online check-in process. If you have any problems or any questions, we will have volunteers in the check-in lobby to help you! Once your children are in our database, you can check them in on your mobile device. When you arrive on Sunday after having checked them in on your device, you will scan the code that comes up on your app on one of our tablets in the kid's area. Each child's name tag will then print out, and you will have a code on your mobile device that matches the code on your child's name tag. This pick-up code must be presented for your child to be released.

If it is your first time joining us with your kids, no stress. Head to the sign that says "New Here?" and we will ask for the following personal information: family member’s names, children’s names and birthdates, address, phone number, and any special instructions such as allergies or special needs for your child. You can also choose to pre-register your child online before arrival by filling out the form below!

1. What ages are involved in Blue Ridge Kids?

We seek to make this your child’s favorite day of the week so we use skilled volunteers, technology, fun activities, and excellent environments to communicate the timeless knowledge of our loving God. Blue Ridge Kids is designed for kids birth through 5th grade. We divide our ministry into 6 age-appropriate environments: 0 - 12 Months, 12 - 24 Months, 2 year olds, 3 year olds, 4 & 5 year olds, and Kindergarten - 5th grade students. We also offer a space on Sundays for Middle School students, 6th-8th grade. We encourage high school students to head into the main service, but we offer Blue Ridge Youth on Wednesdays for both middle and high school students.

2. What do you teach the kids?

Blue Ridge Kids teaches basic Biblical truths in exciting environments. We use relevant curriculum that is designed to communicate basic truths about God, Jesus Christ, and what it means to follow Jesus. Parents are encouraged to partner with us to continue faith development at home throughout the week (Deuteronomy 6:5-9).

3. Will my child be safe?

Safety and security are fundamental to our Blue Ridge Kids experience. We use a secure check-in system to ensure each child is checked in and accounted for at all times while participating in Blue Ridge Kids. Per the check-in instructions above, whoever checked the child in will have to show the matching code to check them out. All staff and volunteers are required to complete a background check and all volunteers work together to ensure your child has a safe and fun environment.

4. Can I take my child into the adult service?

We hope you will feel comfortable choosing to have your child participate in the Blue Ridge Kids experience where they will learn and be engaged at their level. If you would like to experience the adult worship service with your young child, all we ask is that you utilize the family viewing room located next to the kids check in station.

5. How will I know if my child needs me?

Parents can be notified via their tag number at any time on the screen in the worship service. If you see your tag number on the screen please simply return to your child’s class.

6. Is my child too sick for church?

To ensure the health of all the children and volunteers, parents are asked not to bring children, who have, or have had a fever, pink eye, vomiting or diarrhea, or any type of infection within the past 24 hours.

7. How do I become a volunteer within the Kid’s Ministry?
